I pledge as an American to save and faithfully to defend from waste the natural resources of my country - its soil and minerals, its forests, waters and wildlife.
Objectives of the Club
The Club is organized and operated exclusively for pleasure, recreation and other non-profitable purposes of its members, and no part of net income shall inure to the benefit of any member.
That members may endeavor to promote respect for existing game laws and use their influence to improve such laws for the benefit of all sportsmen.
To exchange ideas and knowledge of the varioius sports between memebers so that each member will benefit by experience and skill acquired by other members that each may practice his or her chosen sports to the best advantage.
To acquire, if possible, locations for exclusive use of its members and friends for fishing and hunting.
To provide for general gatherings of its members for festivities to celebrate their sports and club.
To provide a means to keep members posted on hunting and fishing conditions.
History of the Southern Pacific Rod and Gun Club
It was the desire of a group of Southern Pacific General Office employees located in San Francisco to organize a sporting club for the benefit of all employees interested in outdoor recreation activities.
In May 1934 the Southern Pacific Rod & Gun Club became a reality with the objective to bring together in one harmonious group the many anglers and hunters along with other employees of Southern Pacific Transportation Company and affiliated companies, interested in outdoor recreation.
